Happy New Year!

Wow! 2009! Happy New Year!
We took a drive downtown today to check out the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Plaza before it gets taken down. Man was it cold! We enjoyed checking out the people ice skating for a few minutes and then headed over to 5th Avenue. We took a peek at the Saks windows and learned about a little snowflake named Mike. I thought it was funny and took a few pictures. Then we snuck inside Saks to warm up and take a restroom break. Boy, we sure felt out of place among all the high fashion counters. While the boys and I were in the restroom, Mike checked out a sale rack in the ladies department. He told me I could get a blouse on the sale for $1000. What a deal, huh? I'll just stick with my $15 sweater from H&M. :) It was a great day to go in and out of the city. The crowds weren't bad at all and the parking was free.

What a fantastic place to celebrate the new year. I am so glad that you got to go downtown and spend some time. I'm also glad that you took some good pictures so your family will remember it.
After all, my kids are starting to claim things that did or didn't happen and I have no proof on some of their crazy ideas..........such as Alyssa telling me that I NEVER helped her learn how to ride a bike.
(Never mind the fact that I spent many days running around holding the back of her bike. What is that about?)

I bet the boys loved that "Mike story" what a fun family outing. Jen, I love the picture of you and your kids all snuggled up in the cold, you are such a cute mom! I hope you have a wonderful new year. Hopefully we can make it out East this year and visit. Thanks for the darling Christmas Card. Your kids have grown up so much! Love keeping in touch.

$1000? That's just a tad outside of my no-more-than-$25-for-an-article-of-clothing rule.

What a fun day in the city!

Looks like fun! I've been thinking of you lately. I was trying to make up my own pattern for a scripture bag for Linsey and I couldn't help but think of when we did those Easter baskets. Hope all is well.
