Farewell Elementary School

Well, if you can believe it, Aaron has graduated from Elementary School. This is definitely bitter sweet for us. He has had wonderful teachers and assistants at Shoal Creek Elementary. We're a bit nervous for him to venture on to Middle School but we're hopeful as well.

A Royal Dance Engagement

Aubrey has been in a dance class at our local recreation center with one of her little friends Laci. The girls had the most darling dance instructor Miss Laura. She was wonderful with the girls. I found out that the company she works for does birthday parties and I just had to book Miss Laura for Aubrey's party. We moved all our living room furniture into the garage and created our very own royal dance studio. The girls had a blast and Miss Laura did not disappoint! The games and dances were so so fun. We made flowers and ribbon wands for the party favors. And while waiting for Miss Laura to arrive, the girls decorated crowns to take home with them. Aubrey is so lucky to have so many cute little friends.

Bakerella Aubrey is 4 years old!

JUNE was a busy month filled with lots of fun for Aubrey. She had two birthday parties. One with her little playgroup friends and one with all her little girlfriends. She wanted to have a Bakerella party so we made aprons for our party guests, played the cupcake game, frosted cookies, and pinned the cherry on top of the cupcake. It was such a delight to celebrate with our little playgroup friends!

Mike's mom made a beautiful princess gown for not only Aubrey, but her four other cousins that are the same age! Aubrey was thrilled with her pink gown. She recently pranced around Disneyland in her gown along with her cousin Olivia who also received one of Grandma's gowns. Pictures to be posted. Opening this present was definitely one of the highlights on Aubrey's birthday.

Mother/Daughter Date

Aubrey and I went with a bunch of friends on a Mother/Daughter date in Balboa Park over the weekend. The Junior Theatre was presenting Disney's Beauty and the Beast. It was great! I took her to lunch at the Prado and we walked over and caught a glimpse of the lily pads near the botanical gardens. I wish I would have taken more pictures of us! Darn. Just wasn't thinking.

My crafts on the side

How does a mom like me survive the demands of raising three busy kids? I keep crafting! This doesn't happen all at once but every week or so, I get the itch to craft something. A friend of mine is raising money for the American Heart Association. I found this tutorial for these darling crayon rolls on her blog. I made a few for some friends and asked them to donate to her cause. Here's the link to her tutorial. http://craftychiclyric.blogspot.com/2010/03/crayon-roll-tutorial.html

At our last quilt group, we made these darling clutches. Here's the tutorial we followed. I thought they turned out so cute that I made an extra one for mom for mother's day. http://www.modabakeshop.com/2011/04/strippy-charm-pouch.html
Our ward has been busy with lots of baby showers lately. I haven't made these burp in a long time! So I finally decided to get back into them. I found the ribbon at Walmart of all places.

Connor's Special Day
