Life in San Diego cont...

Hollie came down with her kids, Blake, Seth, and Hanna in August. We had a great time hanging out together! One of our excursions was to the World Famous San Diego Zoo, of course. There is so much to see and do there. Here's a few highlights.

Aubrey intently watching the Sea Lion Show which supposedly
is the longest running Sea Lion show in the U.S.

For a small fee ($5), one can feed the giraffes.

I'm not sure what it is about me and reptiles but I can't seem to go
to a zoo without taking a bunch of pictures of them.

Who would have thought that you could find Dr. Seuss at the San Diego zoo, but you can! There are some great statues of classic Dr. Seuss characters in the children's discovery center and Aaron being a lover Dr. Seuss books had to have a picture with each statue.
We made a quick stop at the petting zoo. Seth, Aubrey, and Connor
were especially taken with this little goat.

Hanna and Aaron posing with a SD zoo character.
The kids and I went along the monkey trail while Hollie shopped for souveniers. We came across the gorilla statues and I practically had to drag the kids away. They were having way too much fun. What is it with kids and statues?

Life in San Diego...

Mike took the boys on a hike that he went on when he was a kid growing up here in San Diego. The boys were looking forward to checking out where their dad hiked when he was a boy. They came home with some pretty nice snapshots.

Broadbent Family Reunion July 2009

We camped right in Bryce Canyon this year. It was an amazing place to be. Lots of beautiful scenery and great company! We're so glad we were able to attend this year!

Here's a few pictures from our family hike. It was steep going down. The scenery was amazing.

Here's where those with the young kids split off from the those going on the longer hike. Aubrey and I making our way back. Alysson saved the day with a kidpack. I don't know if I would have made it back up otherwise.

and after...

Check out these braids that Susan did in Aubrey's hair! Susan is Mike's counsin's wife...the one I ran the 8k with on July 4th.

Snug as a bug #2. We have since done away with the binkie. Aubrey accepted the fact that they broke and has stopped asking for them. I thought we were going to have a much harder time.

I loved the way the sky looks in this picture. So cool.
